The Most Wonderful Evening Of My Life is one of the most wonderful of Ettore Scola’s films featuring a dream cast in a pitch perfect adaptation of the Friedrich Durrenmatt novel A Dangerous Game.

Alberto Sordi’s genial, easygoing Alfredo breaks down in the Swiss mountains and seeks help from a nearby castle. He meets four retired judges who beg him to indulge them and play the accused in a mock trial that is being staged. He stands accused of murdering his former boss but the fun and games turn deadly serious in a gem of a film with echoes of the Agatha Christie classic And Then There Were None.
